The emphasis was on the person being "white" or "Caucasian" and not German. Read the original
post. Besides, why should a German not feel attached to English? English is a Germanic tongue!!

I don't see anything wrong with that either. I think that perhaps some would perceive language as
just a tool because Chinese - or whatever second language they're learning - has no deeper...

I like putonghua spoken with a fairly standard...

I like putonghua spoken with a fairly standard accent, eg without the "er" sound colouring like in
Beijinghua, and with separation of c/ch, s/sh ,z/zh, n/ng, f/h, l/n.

Because the bottom part of the second character looks more like 之 or 夊, I thought it might be
夏. The character 夏 means Summer. It can also mean "something at the center". For example,

I don't think it relates to '爱拼才会赢' because first, I can reply,
"不见得,看你拼什么了" ( You can't tell, it depends on what you '拼' with); secondly, the

Technically, yes, it's true but like in English, "speak Chinese" often means "speak Mandarin" for
shortness; standard Chinese is Mandarin (Putonghua or Guoyu), anyway.

Hi leib1,

You're probably not using a font that can render chinese characters if its appearing as squares.
Also, if you choose a font that begins with @, it will appear rotated. Try some other...

You should be able to install on top of 0.6.1. You will lose any extra plugins you've installed

Is it just me, or has there been an increase in bad definition being added to the Adsotrans
database recently? I keep getting ridiculous ones that are clearly context-dependent, ie not
appropriate...
